Rights based Child and Youth Development

Overview

Rural and tribal children in the SCINDeA area of operation do not have access to quality education. 70-80% of the children are first generation learners in their families. Most of the villages do not have schools (primary, middle and high schools) and children need to walk 2-3 kilometers daily to reach the school. They do not have the facility of coaching centres either in their schools or in their villages. Participation in extra-curricular activities and exposure to the outside world is very minimal compared to children of communities who are financially well of and have access to such facilities.

To empower children they are given awareness on child rights and child protection and life skill education through tuition centres, children’s clubs, summer camps etc.
